Featured Dog Shelter: Humane Society of Macomb

An adoption process with the Humane Society of Macomb includes several steps: Walk-in, filling out the pre-adoption form, meet and greet (meeting a pet before taking it home), filling out paperwork, taking your new family member home.

The mission of the shelter is to help those who cannot speak themselves. It is focused on helping injured, abused and unwanted animals; prevention of cruelty towards animals; and finding permanent homes for adoptable pets with responsible and loving owners. The shelter was chartered in the mid-1950s, and officially the Humane Society of Macomb was opened in 1967.
